2007 Prince Gallitzin Cross Award Recipient

Harry Sickler Jr. was proposed as an award candidate by Father Joseph Orr, pastor, and the members of the parish council at Saint Matthew Parish, Tyrone.  They described him as “a multi - faceted supporter of the parish and civic communities in which he worships and lives.  He has even been referred to as the ‘Host of Tyrone.’”

The nominators went on to say “Like Prince Gallitzin, Harry Sickler was a founder of and/or major influence in the continuation of numerous community - oriented services, all rooted in his staunch Christian values that call all of us to service of our neighbor.”  In listing his many projects, the nomination form commented “He has been the ‘light of the world’ and ‘city built on a hill’ that Jesus talked about.”
