2007 Prince Gallitzin Cross Award Recipient

Carmella Persio of Holy Name Parish, Ebensburg, was nominated for the Prince Gallitzin Cross Award by the parish council, and by Monsignor Arnold Gaus, pastor.  They noted that her “cooking and baking skills are legendary at Holy Name” and that for more than 50 years she has assisted in food service projects in the parish.

Monsignor Gaus said of her “From the Lord’s Table where she has served as a Eucharistic Minister to the kitchen table in her own home, Carmella Persio has spent a lifetime feeding the people of God.  She and her husband, Philip, raised a family of five, and she continues to help raise numerous grandchildren and great - grandchildren.  It is our hope that you, like us, will find her a worthy and fitting candidate for the Prince Gallitzin Cross Award.”
