2006 Prince Gallitzin Cross Award Recipient

Monsignor Robert C. Mazur is the director of the diocesan Liturgy Office, and oversees the Diocesan Liturgy Committee, which nominated him for the Gallitzin Cross Award.  “The committee feels that Monsignor Mazur has contributed immeasurably to the growth of its liturgies carrying out the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Church’s most perfect form of prayer, the Mass,” they wrote.  “He is a devoted priest serving this Diocese as well as the local and greater Church with much Christian spirit and love towards the people he serves so tirelessly.”  Monsignor Mazur is rector of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Altoona and “has been a shining example of the evangelizing spirit called for by the priestly Prince Gallitzin.”
